Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 機械工程學系所 === 104 === For centuries, a low sperm account or poor sperm guality in semen causes growing male infertility. Traditional sperm assessment often uses sperm quality analyzer (SQA-V) with the computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA), which is time consuming and requires expensive equipments. The purpose of this preliminary research is to develop protable and minaturized microfuluidic devices with gravity driven capillary and it might be used to estimate sperm quality in the furture. Microfluidic device with capillary valves consists of two inlets, and are able to drive two kinds of liquids by gravity. Sequentially followed by loading, metering, and contacting when the microfluidic device was tilted by a XYZ stage. Three pieces of PMMA substrate was fabricated by laser engraving machine and integrated by adhseive transfer taps. Finally, fluorescent dye was used to study diffusion status.
