Through the development of society and growth in population, the demand for building services and comfort levels assume the upward trend in energy demand will continue in the future. Building sector, both commercial and residential, accounts 40% of energy consumption in Taiwan. A study reported that the main energy consumption and CO2 emission from the life cycle of office building occurs during the operation and maintenance phase. For this reason, the energy efficiency in buildings is a major objective for energy policy today. The objective of this study is to investigate the opportunities for energy conservation strategies in office buildings in Taiwan. Building energy retrofit strategies were explored by EnergyPlus model, using an existing office building in Taichung. A retrofit process of building energy consumption was formulated and its energy-saving efficiency was evaluated by the calibrated simulation model. Different types of energy conservation strategies such as orientation, window glazing material, window to wall ratio, building envelope insulation level, shading device, HVAC setting point and daylight dimming control system have been applied and evaluated in this research. It is found that the building considered in this study can save up to 20% annual energy consumption by implementing the above mentioned strategies into the existing system. 林明德 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 88 zh-TW |
