3-methoxybenzylidene)carbonohydrazide (H2hmc) and1,5-Bis
(salicylidene)carbohydrazide (H2sch), were ultilized and generated two
dinuclear, a nonanuclear, a hexanuclear and a hexadecanuclear complexes.
All of complexes were well studied by using X-ray single crystal
diffraction for crystal structures and Superconducting Quantum
Interference Device for measuring magnetic properties. There is a similar
structure of [Dy2(Hhmc)2(NO3)4] (1) which has a high energy barrier but
complex (1) is not a SMM. [Dy9( μ
3-O)4(μ-OH)6(hmc2-)4(NO3)4(DMF)4] (2)
has a specific structure which has never been published. The
[Dy2(μ-O)(shc)(NO3)2 (DMF)3(H2O)] (3) has non-parallel magnetic
anisotropy which might cause multiple magnetic relaxation processes, and
the single magnetic behavior with a high energy barrier has been
observed.The [Dy6(sch)3(CO3)3( μ
3-O) (MeOH)14(H2O)] (4) composed of
two Dy3 triangular units was found to exhibit slow magnetic relaxation.The
[Dy16( μ
3-OH)18( μ
3-O)6(shc)6 (H2O)18(OH)] (5) is the first hexadecanuclear
pure lanthanide complex in previous research.
