The silica colloidal crystals can be used as a template to create sub-micrometer-scale biomimetic sucker structure arrays on polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS). Due to the sucker adhesion mechanism, the as-prepared materials can adhere on either dry or wet surface. Moreover, the sub-micrometer-scale sucker exhibit strong adhesion on rough surface. Furthermore, the effect of sucker structure on adhesion is investigated in this study.
