The topic of Chinese students learning and living in Taiwan is controversial locally, especially in regard to career choice and development direction of Chinese students after the first intake graduated in 2015. This study aims to understand experience of Chinese students in Taiwanese universities using basic enrolment information and student experiences. The study will analyze the background information of Chinese students in Taiwanese universities during 2015 and 2016, including gender, learning identity, public and private school background, and district of Taiwan to understand Chinese students’ satisfaction in respect of learning, living and career choice. Using descriptive statistics, t-test and one-way ANOVA to analysis 2216 examples that were gathered through a network questionnaire in 2015 and 2016, the study found that: Chinese students (including degree students, exchange students and short-term students) were mainly from Zhejiang , Fujian and Guangdong; female students accounted more than sixty percent; and bachelor students accounted more than seventy-eight percent. Bachelor students were concentrated in private universities, but masters and doctoral students preferred public universities. Most Chinese students chose universities in the north of Taiwan. The Chinese students were largely satisfied with their learning, living and career choices in Taiwan and female Chinese students were more satisfied than male Chinese students. Chinese students learning in public universities gave a higher rating than private universities to the learning aspect in 2016, Chinese students in private universities felt better than the others. Chinese students learning in the central region of Taiwan gave the highest rating in learning, living and career choice and exchange students felt more satisfied than degree students. Although all the Chinese students were satisfied with learning in Taiwan and had no significant difference among them, the aspect of living and career choice shows that the higher the level of study, the lower the level of satisfaction. Additionally, interested parties should pay more attention to the phenomenon that the overall satisfaction of Chinese students in 2016 was slightly lower than in 2015.
