Summary: | 碩士 === 國立政治大學 === 中國文學系 === 104 === Viewing from both the “Republishing” and “Rewriting”, this thesis observes the activities of cultural production during Ming Dynasty. The objects of this study are the outstanding publisher in Jinling(金陵)----Zhou Yuejiao(周曰校), and his two well-known works----Bao Gong Yan Yi(包公演義) and Hai Gong An(海公案). Zhou Yuejiao’s publishing activities involved republishing Bao Gong Yan Yi and recomposing Hai Gong An in the development and process of Ming GongAn(公案) Fiction, which makes him become the best object of observation. Therefore, in order to discuss how the text manipulated its physical properties to create unique features in the process of republishing and rewriting, and how Zhou Yuejiao successfully collected, edited, shifted and reconstructed an entirely new story, this thesis explores the interactive relationship between authors and works in the dimension of cultural production.
By studying Zhou Yuejiao and Ming GongAn Fiction, I find that the phenomenon of republishing and rewriting leads all dimensions able to stand up alone perfectly from various aspects, yet showing obscure relationship at different levels; no matter what the cultural consciousness from different strata (elites/folks), the physical properties of text construction(words/images) or even the dynamic distribution of works (trans-regional/ rival publishers).
