Army reduction influences logistic capacity. Therefore, according to the National Defence Act and the Organisation Act of the Ministry of National Defence, during nonwar periods, the national army can purchase parts and accessories for military equipment from vendors in Taiwan; accordingly, the operation time for logistic supplies can be shortened and combat power can be enhanced. In the present study, we examined equipment referenced on a military officer equipment checklist to identify unqualified vehicles, highly unqualified items, and factors that influenced task execution, equipment appropriateness, and maintenance standards. In addition, after reliability factors were identified, we proposed improvement methods and forecasted improvement outcomes. Regarding the repair budget for military parts and accessories, a solver tool was employed to optimise the use of limited funds, ensuring budget spending on items that must be repaired. For personnel from various units who need to commission vendors to repair items, they can apply the model developed in this study to obtain an optimal value, determine what items must be repaired, and reduce repair costs. The available spare budget can be used in other units or in vehicle repair that was not a top priority. Accordingly, military operation and vehicle reliability can be optimised.
