The development of control system will produce less sound to provide motion for the finger mechanism. The sound produce of the control system will not intervene with the sound produce by the guitar. There will be two parts of the control system, hardware and software. The finger mechanism will be controlled by a PLC and it is to play at a desires tempo and sound. The finger mechanism is designed so that at different voltage it produces different sound. Trials, testing and calculations are done to obtain the components, connections and program. The voltage input in the silent actuator is linear voltage. For every stroke of the finger mechanism create one sound. There is a need to turn off the finger mechanism to revert it back to its original position. The voltages that were used were 26 Volts, 28 Volts, and 30 Volts. The program speed test is also measured through the program with different time delay. The time delay can be programmed in the PLC. The PLC used is Mitsubishi Model FX3U-32MT/ES-A, and the programming software is MELSoft series GX Developer version 8. The programming software has time delay feature to play the plucking effect of the guitar robot. As a testing sample, a program playing the accompaniment of a famous song – “Five Hundred Miles” by Hedy West was created. At 100 Beats per Minute (BPM), the guitar robot completed the song with clear sound quality with hardly any audible noise from the machine. Frequency test also showed that the guitar robot can play as fast as 1200 Pluck per Minute (PPM) by encoding the program in the PLC. DR. LI, CHIH-HUNG 李志鴻博士 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 76 en_US |
