Among the intensively competition of knowledge and technology, a patent play a key role to maintain its dominant position for enterprises’ competiveness, therefore, to grasp comprehensively related patent information become extremely important and urgent. In this study, the technology development of well-known artificial reality was analyzed by main path analysis method which was found by Hummon and Doreian (1989) Main path analysis method was firstly used for analyzing citation network and trying to submit the strategy of future technology and product research. Via patent search and analysis, we can understand that Augmented Reality and virtual reality technology are actually related to each other. While developing Virtual Reality technology, Augmented Reality technology will be enhanced virtually. In addition, from the analysis, we can see that the artificial reality is still under development. Enterprises can start planning long-term goals, such as mixed-reality technology and application; and then develop a short-term and the medium-term goals, for instance, the application of Augmented Reality and the experience of Virtual Reality. Regarding to the core technology of Artificial reality, enterprises should develop its unique R & D , and then apply for intellectual property rights to reach for win- win for both future technologies and revenue. The estimated trend of technology development is only for reference from past experience, however, the actual trend of technology development will be affected by many other factors, therefore, in order to analyze the trend more comprehensively, it is essential to find a more accurate way to calculate and consider all aspects of factors.
