Description
Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 教育研究所碩士在職專班 === 104 === “Reading brings me more rests as it guides me walking into other people’s thoughts and soul,” said Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. In the past, there were bookstores everywhere with people standing in there reading. Even though learning style has been changed a lot and different from that before, the researcher truly believes that people still need to rely on reading to enrich and nurture the soul. Also, reading can develop the strength of life and increase the value of life. Ovid Tzeng, former Minister of Education, suggested that limitations of classroom education would be broken by improving reading education that makes students love to read and eventually leads to lifelong learning. In recent years, reading activity has been a growing trend. It’s promoted by governments, schools and libraries. This study adopted qualitative research with students in F Junior High School in Taipei County as subjects. Observation, reflection, feedback, documents, individual interview, and focus group interview were used for data collecting, analysis and interpretation in order to study the problems and strategies for promoting the reading education in F Junior High School. Several suggestions are provided as follows: (1)Reading in morning time helps students develop their reading habits and interests; (2)Create the perfect reading atmosphere that is felt and loved by teachers and students; (3)Active reading, which would last for lifetime, is a precious gift for children; (4)Recognize the importance of reading habits as it may influence students’ lifelong inspiration and learning habits; (5)Join school reading activity and cultivate active lifelong reading ability; (6)Revise qualifications for applying to Reading Teachers in smaller, rural and remote schools.
