Serving the army is the best way, It is the automatic answer of the most people; However, what is “RAEL MAN”‘s meaning? Taiwan is one of the most gay-friendly countries in Asia, so the army, macho-man developing center, can tolerate feminine gay men in that? Some gay will hide their effeminacy behavior during training in the military to protect them from discrimination and strong stigma attached on them. The military, which have special task than other government institution and companies, need strong ,masculine men to guard our country. Nevertheless, famine gay men cannot live up with that. The study focuses on feminine gay men’s situation, feeling and response in the military, in order to let military officers know how to deal with gay men’s predicaments between army-positioning and gay human right , moreover creating a gay-friendly circumstances in the army . The research focuses on personal experience of feminine gay military men, thought that shows the three sides of reality of what army culture is, how the peer pressure process work and what feminine gay men are thinking , discussing effeminacy gay men’s strategies in gay-unfriendly environment and why they do that . In the open society, sexual orientation is no longer a taboo topic, so don’t judge people by their appearance and acting, but seeing their trait, respecting people who are different from us. Maybe it can make the army become a melting pot of multiple sexual orientations and a LGBT-friendly environment not a hell anymore.
