| Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 企業管理學系碩士在職專班 === 104 === In the deadliest diseases of the world, stroke is the second major cause of death. Stroke is one of the common harmful cerebral diseases and the leading cause of handicap and death of adults. This research will analyze the factors associated with the duration of hospitalization and the effect to future Tw-DRGs payment system in stroke patients. This research is a retrospective study. Our research method is regression analysis. The duration of hospitalization is the dependent variable, and the health condition of each patient is the independent variable.
In the results of our research, four independent variables, including type 2 diabetes mellitus, history of previous stroke, Barthel index and the evaluation of handicapped stroke patients will affect the duration of hospitalization significantly. This model of regression analysis can be applied to the clinical pathway and standard duration of hospitalization of stroke patients in hospital case. It can prevent excessive length of stay and unnecessary waste of medical resources. By this model, we can expose the inappropriate consumption of medical resources regularly and correct it immediately. We can also predict the effect of future DRGs payment system to department of neurology in hospital case.
