Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 財務金融學系碩士班 === 104 === The innovation of e-commerce has transformed consumer purchasing behaviors and brought numerous benefits to the global economy. Traditionally, e-commerce financial transactions were mostly controlled by major financial institutions. However, the e-commerce industry has evolved in recent years with the emergence of third party payment companies, which offer better service and more convenient payment solutions to customers. The growing success of these third party payment companies has significantly impacted traditional financial institutions in a negative way.
US’s PayPal and China’s Alipay are two of the most successful third party payment companies in the world. This thesis will:
* describe and compare these two companies’ successful strategies
* analyze Taiwan’s e-commerce payment landscape
* detail the potential challenges that Taiwan’s financial institutions may
face from third party payment companies
* offer recommendations to Taiwan’s financial institutions
