The Optimum Analysis of Extrusion for Fasteners

碩士 === 高苑科技大學 === 機械與自動化工程研究所 === 104 === This study is aimed at fastener billets of AISI 1035, 10.7mm × L52mm , with the numerical code of DEFORM 3D, to investigate numerically the factors in affecting the billet-extrusion by using Taguchi experiment method. It is revealed numerically that, for the...

It is revealed numerically that, for the maximum extrusion load (Fmax), the most significant factor is R1 chamfer, and the larger is R1 chamfer, the smaller is Fmax; the secondly significant factor is R2 chamfer, and also the larger is R2 chamfer, the smaller is Fmax; the third significant factor is the extrusion angle (α), and the smaller is α, the smaller is Fmax. For the extrusion energy (E), the most significant factor is R1 chamfer as well, and the larger is R1 chamfer, the smaller is E; the secondly significant factor is the extrusion angle (α), and the smaller is α, the smaller is E; the third significant factor is R2 chamfer, and the larger is R2 chamfer, the smaller is E. It is displayed that the extrusion die design is relatively important to both the maximum extrusion load (Fmax) and the extrusion energy (E). However, the extrusion speed and the length of extrusion neck are relatively not significant. Keywords: Taguchi method, extrusion, maximum extrusion load, extrusion energy.
