The special injection molding processes were derived from classic injection molding, such as vacuum injection molding, air assist molding, over-molding and twin-shot injection molding… etc. In case of twin-shot injection molding, it is focusing on how the two different plastic material flowing inside the cavity. Both of the scholar and engineer are researching the factors of various kind of plastic material in thickness, melt temperature, injection speed, and mold temperature for increasing mechanical strength in different products. In this study, applies Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) plastic flow analysis tool to verify with actual tests of twin-shot injection molding process using material of PP and TPR. The analysis using different numbers of process parameters in CAE plastic flow analysis tool to achieve variety of core material distribution after penetrated into cover layer by changing melt temperature, injection speed and injection rate. The results indicate that this research can optimize parameters by using CAE plastic flow analysis for twin-shot plastic injection molding process in hope to improve productivity, activation and cost reduction.
