In the proposed system, a red (650nm) and a green (532nm) diode laser are used; the computer controlled rotation polarizer is also built. The proposed system for optical activity can automatically measure the polarization rotation angle when the polarized light passes through the test solution and determine dextrorotatory or levorotatory characteristics. The system accuracy is up to 0.09°. From the experiment results, we found that glucose solution and fructose solution with the mutarotation phenomenon, the more concentration of the solution the larger deflection angle of optical activity, the shorter wavelength of light the larger deflection angle of optical activity.
