This paper is discussing about the relationship of embankment which between moisture content and spreading failure after water immersion with different thickness compaction but same energy effect. To observed the spreading failure which caused by self absorbent,we decide to make a hydraulic model,size:88.5cm×88.5cm×500cm with different thickness to be compact but same energy effect,after finish,put 400cm high water behind embankment until model been spreading failure, to obtain: 1.When the embankment been destroyed,then,measure the value for spreading angle and spread moisture,to compare the value,we make Atterberg flow limit test、maximum static friction angle for spreading test and moisture test ether,we can find that the value of test are as same as model failure. 2.We took a small part to make a soaking swelling test,it shows that the energy provides each ft^3 from model 10cm compact each high is higher then ASTM D698 standers require,which means its not able to happened spreading failure. 3.Compacted soil moisture after flooding changes are more than the plastic limit (PL), all occurred in the hydraulic model test water downstream slope perforation spreading destroyed. According to those tests,to prevent preading failure,we suggest to use less than 10cm compact for each high to filling embankment and all energy provides needs to be comform or more than ASTM D698 standers require norm,last,the value of swelling test can not over than liquid limit.
