Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 電子工程系碩士班 === 104 === With the invention of transistor event in 1947, that moment not only made a very first milestone in semiconductor manufacturing field in particular but created a new era for scientific and technological revolution worldwide. From the beginning in the 1950s, the semiconductor manufacturing industry started calling its foundation in US [1]. The first integrated component just had less than 12 transistors. Nowadays the number of transistors could up to millions. Semiconductor technology covers almost facets of human life. This industry is relatively young land but full of potentials ahead. Nowadays there are thousand companies are globally racing in this field, this industry even is a fertile land for innovations and talents as mentioned but it also is super competitive, fierce to survive and will be a death battle for any companies which lack of creation, innovation and breakthrough. Semiconductor Manufacturing is one of the most important industries, and it surely plays a tremendous role in the human civilization and determines the civilization, many new life-changing technologies coming up everyday. All these technologies, modern machines are made or created from semiconductor components. It is not exaggerated to say that this industry is changing everyday and shaping the world in the future. Thus, the development and situation of operation of semiconductor suppliers will make special attention. This paper is going to answer this issue. This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of using integrated methods for gaining a bigger picture as well as a more comprehensive view for any particular problems that applied. The results of this research are derived from the combination between two models of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and one of three different given Grey Forecasting models that applied into this research. Super-SBM and Malmquist are used for evaluating performance, ranking and estimating efficiency change of all semiconductor manufacturing companies correspondingly in the period of 2011-2014. Three different Grey Forecasting models GM(1,1), GM(2,1), and DGM(1,1) are applied to find out which one is best forecasting model based on empirical result. DGM(1,1) is the final forecasting model selected to create the future data and DEA method will be applied one more time for prospective performance, ranking and efficiency change in four years coming. In the period of 2011-2014 there are some names stay in the top rankings and lead in technical-changing like DMU1 (Intel), DMU2 (Samsung Electronics), DMU4 (Texas Instruments), DMU11 (Panasonic), DMU18 (Fujitsu Microelectronics) etc. The most efficient DMUs still keep their energy to achieve their top positions in the period of 2015-2018 but still witness some changes like the emerge of DMU12 (Micron Technology), and DMU19 (Analog Devices) in the period of 2015-2018.
