It is proven that infant cry is meaningful. The concepts of infant care and education are constantly progressed in current societies, and the parents are expecting to give the most comfortable care to infants. It is necessary to understand the habits and thinking of infants in order to take good care of infants. Similar to distinct personalities, each infant presents different behaviors and preferences. Such unique personalities are regarded as temperament. Infant temperament therefore is discussed in this study. There are evaluations of the so-called infant temperament scale in current societies; however, such questionnaires are responded by parents or the third party. In this study, it is proposed to evaluate the correlations between sound features and infant temperament by infant cry analysis and to look for the trend of same type of cry in the temperament classification.
