In response to this trend, the study in this project is to apply NFC technology with IoT architecture to build a roll call system to track the student attendance precisely. This system can improve work efficiency for the teacher in the classroom without building any extra hardware device or paying maintenance costs. As long as the user downloads the roll call system APP services,it can be used conveniently in at any time and place.
In this study, the technology of an android-based roll call system is based on NFC with mifare card to construct a better roll call function. A back-end computing system can provide the functions of data synchronization, information downloading/uploading, attendance rate computing, and class message push services, etc, without additional equipments. It can store recorded time and compute the attendance rate in the smart mobile devices to execute the on-line or off-line roll call task by post-processing and transmitting.
Through this roll call system, teacher can manage the courses or check the student's attendance condition to improve the impartiality in class.
This system also can collect the attendant information of students automatically. If student come too late in the class, the system will push alarm via the smart mobile devices to remind the students to correct their absent behavior.
Furthermore, the modular design of the developed roll call system has been developed with customized demand to create a splendid study environment and help students to have good study performance.
