Description
Summary:碩士 === 崑山科技大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 104 === In this case study, we investigate how the professional military officers in Chinese marine corps maintain their stamina and working status under high stress situations. We also analyze the difficulties that the commander of special forces may face and the corresponding effect on their career development.Based on the Occupational Stress Index (OSI) by Cooper (1988),We have divided work pressure into six categories as an attempt to figure out the pressure that the special forces might need to deal with at work. On the other hand, the stress management programme highly depends on one’s personal experiences. Hence we adopt the model of Lazarus and Folkman (1984), known as the problem-focused coping (PFC) and the emotion-focused coping (EFC) and analyze how the leadership make strategic decisions when facing various pressures. Except providing an empirical guidance for understanding if the commanders have the unique personalities or ways to reduce stresses, we hope our results can also serve as a reference for junior officers who devote their careers to special forces. As field officers are the middle ranks in our special forces, it will be benefit if they are able to apply the result of our study to understand mental health of their subordinate officers so as to increase the stabilities and effectiveness of the whole system.
