The school under study was an Atayal Elementary School in Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, alias Kui- Hui Elementary School, and the subjects were those involved in the implementation of the ethnic education curriculum, including the principal, directors, external teachers responsible for ethnic education curriculum, team teachers, tutors, students and community groups. The methods employed were in-depth interviews, interviewing related subjects and analyzing related documents. The data collected were analyzed in order to demonstrate the conditions and the difficulties in implementing ethnic education curriculum in Kui- Hui Elementary School. The findings are encapsulated below and recommendation is put forward as reference for schools desiring to implement indigenousethnic education curriculum. 1.There is a necessity of implementing ethnic education curriculum in indigenous schools. 2.Tribal cultures can be inherited through the practice of ethnic instructional curriculum. 3.The curriculardesign of ethnic education is advised to take the form of spiral curriculum. 4.The instruction of ethnic education curriculum should adopt the team teaching model. 5.Prior to implementing ethnic education curriculum, teaching preparations and indigenous culture education should be carried out in order to foster teaching communities. 6.Integrating tribal and community resources for the implementation of ethnic curriculum. Finally, based on the research conclusion, the following recommendation is made for the reference of teachers, researchers and education authorities in conducting their research in the future. 1. With respect to the policies and administration of the education authorities: (1) Indeed perform the legalization of ethnic education and the clarity and definiteness of policy implementation. (2) Provide funding for the plan, supplemented by positive incentive measuresin order to enhance schools’ willingness to implement the curriculum. (3) Positively fortify cross bureau-office cooperation in order to increase the efficacy of the administrative authorities. (4) Form promotional groups for ethnic education for the effective implementation of ethnic education curriculum. (5) Establisha sound system of ethnic education to ensure the prospects of the students. (6) Promote experimental education to seek new paths of development for indigenous schools. 2. With respect to the implementation and teaching of the curriculum in schools: (1) Establish channels of teachereducationfor ethnic education curriculum, and developthe profession of ethnic education teacher. (2) Strengthen the indigenous language immersionelement of the ethnic education curriculum. (3) Ethnic education curriculum be established as an independent subject in indigenous priority schools. (4) Create a mechanism of expert guidance to raise the quality and effects of ethnic education. (5) Establish a resource platform for ethnic education curriculum for the sharing of teaching resources.
