A convenience sample of 126 clinical nurses was recruited at a regional hospital in southern Taiwan. using questionnaires of the working load, nursing competencies, and getting off duty on time in nurses. The SPSS 18.0 for Windows software system was used for statistical analyses ,including descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation of the subjects. The results showed that: (1) 41.1% of the subjects could not get off from work on time during the past one month.(2) scores about 59.6% of the nurses has a higher scores than the average scores(5.78).(3)Age, education, and working years were significantly and negatively associated with getting of duty on time.
