碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 醫學社會學與社會工作學系碩士班 === 104 === Compared to WHO data, the dementia population of Taiwan is doubled in 20 years that is faster than global. At present, unit care is a new pattern of institutional care model and there are only eight unit care service model of institutions in Taiwan. Most caregiver are not familiar the pattern of care, the high cost of care, and other concerns； therefore, they usually send the people with dementia into nursing home or other traditional caring model institution. The purpose of this research is to investing the decision-making process of dementia caregiver with using unit care service model institution, and to know the cause dementia caregivers sending people with dementia into the unit care service model institution with the method of Qualitative Research. The objectives in this research are the dementia people’s caregivers who already sending dementia people into the unit care service model institution in Pingtung. The results show the consideration of caregivers can be classified into five subjects. The dementia caregivers have different concerns and expectations from the caregivers who care the disable people； thus, those concerns will affect different level expectation of service in institution and the decision-making process. And also, the dementia caregivers stress the interaction between the institution workers and themselves. At last, based on the results, the researcher will gives some specific suggestions to the government, and the relevant agencies for reference.
