Summary: | 碩士 === 景文科技大學 === 環境與物業管理系碩士班 === 104 === A transport hub is a place where passengers are exchanged between vehicles or transport modes. At Taipei, transport hubs usually located in a large building or department store basement, deterioration of indoor air quality due to the vehicle emissions and airtight buildings resulted in potential public health problems. In this study, monitoring of indoor air quality was conducted in a transport hub to evaluate the health effects of staff members, and recommendations for the indoor air quality management based on monitoring data were suggested.
The results showed that all the average detected concentrations of carbon monoxideranged from 12 ~ 16ppm were far exceeded regulatory standard 9ppm. Higher concentrations detected at10:00 - 13:00 and 20:00 - 22:00 wasdue to the heavy traffic and inadequate ventilation.
The present study suggests that vehicles should be turned off immediately when entering a transport hub to prevent the emissions of pollutants. In addition, at off-peak times with lower concentrations of air pollutants, the air conditioning system can be shut down, or the ventilation rate can be reduced. In the case of three hours shut down period which can reduced 10.5% cost of electricity. Effective evaluation and planning of air conditioning system could reduce energy consumption, but also to maintaining good indoor air quality.
