The Influence of Facebook Usage Behavior on College Students'' Interpersonal Relationship--An example in I-Shou University

碩士 === 義守大學 === 工業管理學系 === 104 === In recent years, the rapid development of the Internet has led to the emergence of Facebook, a social network that has revolutionized conventional communication channels and developed into a media platform for social connection. Moreover, because colleges may be perceived as microcosms of society, social connection between classmates and teachers at colleges is particularly crucial. To examine the effects of college students’ Facebook usage behavior on interpersonal relationships, by employing various individual statistical variables, this study adopted a questionnaire survey method; 330 questionnaires were distributed to I-Shou University students. A total of 305 valid questionnaires were returned and analyzed through descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, analysis of variance, and a chi-square test. The analysis results indicated that: (1) the individual statistical variables of the sample respondents exhibited various levels of influence on Facebook usage behavior; (2) the individual statistical variables led to statistically significant differences in college interpersonal relationships; and (3) Facebook usage behavior influenced college interpersonal relationships. This study generated conclusions and suggestions on the basis of the data analysis results to serve as a reference for parents, teachers, and students interested in this topic.
