Summary: | 碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 應用心理學系碩士在職專班 === 104 === There are inconsistent results among the factors whether teachers’ job stress will affect teachers’ turnover intention in the past studies. Such inconsistency is likely to ignore the individual differences of workplace-contingent self-worth and the ability of individuals believe that is incremental or entity view. In this study, the participants are 250 official elementary school and junior school teachers in northern Taiwan. This study focused on the influence of teachers’ job stress arising from the effect on turnover intention. In addition, this study examined whether teachers’ workplace-contingent self-worth and incremental view of ability can buffer the negative relationship between teachers’ stress and turnover intention. The result shows that there are no directly affect of teachers’ job stress on the turnover intention. However, there is negative relationship between workplace-contingent self-worth and turnover intention, for teacher with high turnover intention who has a lower workplace-contingent self-worth. In addition, teachers’ workplace-contingent self-worth and the incremental view of ability did moderated the relationship between teachers' job stress and turnover intention, for teachers with high workplace-contingent self-worth and high incremental view of ability, the more the higher the perception that they have gained in their work evaluation, and believe they have the ability to change the status quo as well, whom with the lower turnover intention. Finally, based on the research findings, implications for educators and suggestions for future research were provided.
