Since 2003, good market forecasts for the ultra-high pressure water jet cutting technologies have encouraged many local companies in Taiwan to invest in this industry, developing and manufacturing a variety of ultra-high pressure water jet cutters that can be employed in different applications. To cater to the expectations and requirements of various stakeholders, petrochemical industries and companies have started to look for new processing methods. High pressure water jet cutters generate no sparks and little pollution, and thus offer great potential in industrial development. Ultra-high pressure water jet cutters are considered a digitally controlled lathe and a high-end equipment for emerging and strategic industries and manufacturers which may contribute towards continued growth and prosperity. Hence, this study aims to determine whether there were any mutual influences between product characterization and product strategies during the process of business development, and identify any significant relationships between the aspects of product characterization and portfolio and product strategies. This study found that there were indeed mutual influences between product characterization and product strategies. Significant influences were identified between product characterization and product portfolio as well as between product portfolio and product strategies. Product portfolio and product series also served as an intermediary in their relationships with product strategies. These results may be provided to manufacturers of high pressure water jet cutters as a reference for product management. Dr.Tseng,Kuang-jung 曾光榮 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 67 zh-TW
