Normally the mass production was adopted by traditional industry but 3D printing creates unique and small amount of customized products. The price of desktop personal 3D printer is more competitive than indusrial 3D printer as well as 40 different materials. Recently the growth rate of 3D printing materials such as ABS and PLA decreasing becomes an issue in the market. A possible solution is to improve the process by high-strength and high- temperature linear thermoplastic resins or composite materials to meet consumer demand and open new sales channels. In this study, the relevant studies and literatures were discussed including the analysis of industrial competition, relevant technology, 3D printer and supply market etc as well as the strength and weakness of 3D printer and materials. Finally, based on the expert in-depth interviews, some results and conclusions were proposed for Taiwan 3D printing industries. Accroding to the result, the amount of materials does not growth as the volume of 3D printer. The unit price and printing quality, the particularity of printing supplies as well as the new applications in the market would be the major factor for market growth. It is also important to shorten the learning curve of 3D printer. Two major factors are the bottleneck of 3D printing market: high production cost and low profit margin limits the willing of suppliers to join this market.
