As social enterprises gain momentum in the approach to business management throughout the world, understanding its effects and possible contributions to societies can be instrumental in its application. Through in depth interviews, analyzing recent case studies and researching women’s empowerment work around the world, this study concludes that women’s empowerment work is a social good that creates a ripple effect of benefits in communities it is practiced in. Social entrepreneurship as a means to women’s empowerment can be challenging and many times disheartening.
