The researcher reviewed relevant literature and conducted in-depth interviews to collect data. To probe into the research topic, the perception, willingness and concerns of the physical education instructors on flipped teaching were analyzed. The study found that knowledge of flipped teaching for the subjects were provided by media, schools or seminars. Subjects possessed different views about the meaning of flipped teaching, though consistencies were found in their administering flipped teaching by emphasizing pre- and self-learning on the student part before the class, arranging for more group discussion sessions and hands-on learning projects in the class, and evaluating the learning outcomes and their relevance with certain guiding concepts after teaching. They all showed a strong interest in helping students to develop a sound logical thinking ability. The subjects were willing to implement their philosophy on future instructions and to share teaching experiences with others. To make flipped teaching a success, teachers must learn to master different kinds of teaching methods as well as to provide solid evidence to show the effectiveness of their efforts. Also, they have to earn supports and cooperation from their colleagues, school administrators, parents of students, and students themselves. It is suggested that physical education instructors need to lead students toward becoming self-learners, to plan their curriculum based on the contents of the scheduled units and the class characteristics, and be mindful of the uniqueness of motor skill learning. Future studies are also recommended to look into differences between the various teaching styles or grades of learning, to employ a different research methodology, to survey on different groups of subjects, and to expand data collection areas to other cities, in order to both enlarge and deepen the scope of academic inquiries in the related field.
