First, our scheme uses space filling curve to divide the image into sub-images and each sub-image is dispersed of the original image. Then, does the error diffusion in gray-level images by sub-images index, and produces the fixed length sequence of the halftoning binary code according to the rule of Hamming code. In the previous scheme, the fixed length sequence of the covering code error diffusion is a contiguous block of neighboring pixels, the error of the embedded pixel can’t be completely diffused to its neighbors. Since the pixels in the embedding block of our method are dispersed in the image, the error of the embedded pixel can be completely diffused to its neighbors. The experimental results shows that the quality of stego-halftone image of our scheme is better than that of the previous scheme.
