Summary: | 碩士 === 佛光大學 === 傳播學系 === 104 === The study aims to discuss junior high school students’ learning motivation and the willingness of applying mobile devices. The content explores the differences among the learners’ learning motivation and willingness to learn when they use mobile devices and analyzes the impact of using the devices on their learning motivation and willingness to learn.
With reviewing the literature of mobile learning, learning motivation and willingness to learn, the study adopted the questionnaire method for these learners from different backgrounds as the research subjects. The self-compiled questionnaire “The study of junior high school students’ learning motivation and willingness to learn with mobile devices” was employed. There are 46 questions in this questionnaire in total. The subjects include 555 students from 4 schools in I-lan county, who participate in the mobile learning program in academic year 2016. Removing the invalid questionnaires, 536 valid copies were collected. All the data were analyzed by frequency distribution, means of descriptive statistics, standard deviation, independent-sample t test, one way analysis of variance and regression analysis.
The major findings are:
1. The difference between the learning motivation and the mobile device learners with different demographic variables.
(1) The significant difference between the learning motivation and the mobile device learners with different grade.(2) The significant difference between the learning motivation and the mobile device learners with different father’s educational level.(3) The significant difference between the learning motivation and the mobile device learners with different mother’s educational level.(4) The significant difference between the learning motivation and the mobile device learners with the main caregivers’ educational attitudes.
2. The difference between the learning willingness and the mobile device learners with different demographics variables.
(1) The significant difference between the willingness to learn and the mobile device learners with different grade.(2) The significant difference between the willingness to learn and the mobile device learners with different father’s educational level.(3) The significant difference between the willingness to learn and the mobile device learners with different mother’s educational level.(4) The significant difference between the willingness to learn and the mobile device learners with the main caregivers’ educational attitudes.
3. Whether the learning motivation of the learners using mobile device have an impact on their willingness to learn.
(1) Achievement-goal orientation has a positive influence convenience.(2) Subject value has a positive influence on playfulness, validity and convenience.(3) Self-efficacy has a positive influence on playfulness, validity and convenience.
4. Recommendations:
(1) Enhancing the development of digital teaching material and exercises.(2) Encouraging teachers to make a good use of related mobile device in class.(3) Encouraging the learners whose parents have lower educational levels with caring attitudes.(4) Encouraging parents to teach their children with democracy and openness.
