In recent years, it creates the new wave of start-ups. Most of barbers register a one person company, thus they insure by the profession union. Many profession unions face intense competition, they provide members to have labor and health insurance and also meet their service demands in order to achieve sustainable development. The unions regularly held more continuing education and training for all members to increase levels of competitiveness and further to substantially improve the pay and benefits.   In this study, the members in Tainan male baber profession union were selcected as the research sample to explore the realtion among on-job training, union commitment and workplace competitiveness. The questionnaire is designed by using seven-point Likert scale. This study uses statistical software package as the analysis tool and results are by using descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, and regression analysis for data analysis.   The results of this study show that (a) on-job training has significant and positive influence on workplace competitiveness; (b) on-job training have significant and positive impact on union commitment; (c) union commitment has significant and positive effect on workplace competitiveness. This research will provide firms as a reference in their related decision.
