According to the estimation of Executive Yuan, the elders who are above 65 years old will reach 14 percent of Taiwan’s population in 2018. Taiwan will become an “Aged Society” in the meantime. The elder could not stand up from the chairs by themselves unless they have the “lifting assistive devices”. However, all the “lifting assistive devices” are designed indoor environment. Therefore, this study will design a lift chair that can be used outdoors. The elders may take a walk and rest with the lift chair. The beginning of the analysis is gathering the reference of the elders. In addition, the requirements of the lift chair will be considered for the design. Furthermore, the analysis will use the Contradiction, S-Fields, Trend, and Resources of the TRIZ theory to find the feasible solution. According to the results of the TRIZ theory, a portable lift chair should have foldable structures, wheels, and a handle for the mobility. The portable lift chair can improve the elder’s outdoor activities. The elder may enjoy the pleasure of outdoor activities, and expand their views！
