Additionally, Salmonella can deliver a substantial amount of therapeutic molecules and continuously release them during infection. It leads to high concentrations of anti-cancer factors accumulated inside the solid tumors. These indicated that engineered bacteria are well suited for incorporating multiple targets into a single system. Cytolethal distending toxin (Cdt) B, a genotoxin produced by Campylobacter jejuni, is a DNase that causes DNA double-strand breaks (DSB) in the nucleus resulting in cell cycle arrest at the G2/M stage and apoptosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the modulation of the tumor-targeting efficiency of Salmonella enterica serovar choleraesuis (S.C.) by coating them with CdtB, designated CdtB-S.C. In this study aimed to investigate the benefits of the use of PAH-S.C. for gene delivery. To evaluate this modulation, the cytotoxic assay CdtB-S.C. was measured both in vitro and in vivo. Treatment with CdtB- S.C. resulted in inhibiting tumor growth and prolonged the survival of tumor-bearing mice.
