碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 經營管理碩士在職專班 === 104 === Research and development union has become a popular topical theme in the society during the recent years since Taiwan government encouraged the domestic manufacturers to constitute R&D unions in the light of the expectations that the industrial and commercial circle makes good use of the significant group strength by means of alliance so as to upgrade the technology standards and industrial competitiveness of Taiwan. The trend has led to existence of lots of R&D unions in the society. Some of them show successful movement, but others get bogged down in problems. This study focuses on another cooperative R&D mode similar to that of the aforementioned R&D union. Different from R&D union, the cooperative R&D mode is operated by just 2 members who come from different business fields. This study explores the whole course of a practical cooperative research and development case from its forming stage through operation to completion. An analysis in stages is provided herein to reveal the advantages of and flaws in such cooperative R&D mode as well as its difference from and similarity to the R&D union mode. The outcome of observation fulfilled during the study is identified in the conclusion paragraph where certain practical proposals are also provided as the references for the future researchers and the business entities having the intention to carry out cooperative research and development.
