The awareness of environmental protection is rooted in life and education. How to promote theparticipation and protection of environmental actions is the most important issue nowadays. The research aims to discuss the current situation of vocational senior high school students’ environmental cognition, attitudes toward the environment, and their behavior in relation to the environment. Also, this study looks into the differences of variants of different backgrounds on those students’ environmental cognition, attitudes toward the environment, and their behavior in relation to the environment. The subjects of this study are the students from National Yuan-lin Home Economics and Commercial Vocational High School. A self-developed questionnaire is adopted to gather the data, and the contents of the questionnaires are divided into four parts, including the rating scale of environmental cognition, the rating scale of attitudes toward the environment, the rating scale of subjects’ behavior in relation to the environment, and personal background. 684 questionnaires are distributed randomly to students of different grades and departments. Among 684 questionnaires, 647 are valid responses, which are analyzed with the research approaches of descriptive statistics, independent t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows. Firstly, the subjects’ environmental cognition, attitude towards the environment, and their behavior in relation to the environment can be classified as over the average. Second, there are partly significant correlations between the subjects’ background (their genders, the education levels of their parents, their residence, and whether they have participated in environmental clubs or courses) and their environmental cognition, attitude towards the environment, and their behavior in relation to the environment. Third, the noticeable correlation can be seen between the subjects’ grades, departments, and their parents’ occupations and their environmental cognition, attitude towards the environment, and their behavior in relation to the environment. Forth, the subjects’ environmental cognition has an influence on their attitude toward the environment. Fifth, the subjects’ attitude toward the environment has an impact on their behavior in relation to the environment. Last but not least, the subjects’ environmental cognition has an influence on their behavior in relation to the environment. Hsin-Tai Chen、Jian-bin Shih 陳信泰、施建彬 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 115 zh-TW
