The former enhance his ability and share the organization’s reputation, the latter know the meaning of what and how to do. Since 2004, I had been the firefighter as an agent in New Taipei City Fire Apartment for 9 years, being ascended to head of a small team to date. There’re lots of experiences no matter to be a marshal or a following in my daily firefighter life. It seems the transactional leadership is always the direction we choose because our mission is necessary accomplish without delay. The solution of reducing possibility of error is “carrot and stick” rather than “ carrot on a stick”. The research takes a local fire department as an object. Through empirical methods, the analysis of management styles can distinctly be seen that the active management-by-exception of transactional leadership styles essentially motivates subordinates and simultaneously develops the maximum performance. Moreover, the research indicates that making good use of both of transactional leadership and transformational leadership will results high effectiveness of leadership and develops a versatile leadership. To improve job performance, the leader will have to take effective ways and to encourage employees.
