Here we talk about to be in a powerful supply chain capabilities, which is necessary for a company to successfully face the market competition. It takes a proper and efficient application of the information technology to upgrade the supply chain management and to help a company to survive in a fast changing market place. The bicycle industry in Taiwan, for example, where there is a complete supply chain, the information technology has been applied in a good way to integrate the supply chain operation in their global logistics management. Consequently it offers a faster, better, and more convenient customer service, which becomes a powerful weapon to be a competitive business in the international market. In this research, a questionnaire survey is conducted to study the upstream and downstream suppliers inside the whole supply chain of the bicycle industry in Taiwan. A total of 168 valid questionnaires were retrieved, and the data were analyzed with structural equation model analysis (SEM). The results were as follows: 1) information technology application had a direct effect on supply chain capabilities; 2) supply chain capabilities had a direct effect on operational performance; 3) operational performance had a direct effect on financial performance. Based on the results, suggestions were proposed to related enterprises for reference.
