Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 機械與自動化工程學系 === 104 === One of the cutting machine used in electric spark machining is WEDM (Wire Electrical Discharging Machine) which is divided into WEDM-LS, WEDM-MS, WEDM-HS according to its moving speed of wire. High precision processing is more and more important nowadays in machinery processing industry. WEDM-HS was looked down initially because of its lower precision but paid attention recently by its lower cost which is half as much as WEDM-LS. Furthermore, the demand for precision for some machinery precessing is not that high. Using WEDM-LS will increase cost in vain.
The main purpose of this research lies in the discussion about the method promoting the efficiency of WEDM-HS. There are two methods adopted: one is researching the roughness of cutting surface and the processing difference of WEDM at a variety of speed by changing the tension of wire electrode, the other is making wire electrode totally covered by dielectric liquid by optimizing design of nozzle of dielectric liquid to improve roughness of cutting surface. The research conclusion shows that both processing speed and surface roughness improve apparently when tension of wire electrode increases. But also discovers that the promotion of both processing speed and surface roughness slow down when the tension reaches a specific value; although whether wire electrode totally covered by nozzle of dielectric liquid has little influence on processing speed and surface roughness, a short circuit will happen and make the machine off when not totally covered
