Comparing the differences between parents parenting styles and student’s learning attitude from different backgrounds. This research used questionnaires, including “Parenting Styles Scale” and “Student’s Learning Attitude Scale”. Subjects were elementary students in Miaoli county. There were 881 surveys of general investigations, and 818 valid surveys were received.The effective rate is 92.8%.The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis. The conclusions are as follows: (a) The Authoritarian parenting styles is the most common parenting styles of elementary school parents in Miaoli county ; The student’s learning attitude of the elementary school in Mioali county is in the medium high level. (b) There’s a significant difference between parents’ education level and parents’ parenting styles. (c) There’s a significant difference between parents’ education level, students’ gender and student’s learning attitude. (d) There’s a significant difference between parents’ parenting styles and student’s learning attitude. (e) There’s a significant correlation between parents’ parenting styles and student’s learning attitude. (f) Students’ gender and parents’ parenting styles had significant predictability on student’s learning attitude. The suggests for parents, teacher, school and future researchers were made according to the results in the study. Key Words: elementary school students, parents’ parenting styles, learning attitude
