The students selected are from the second grade of Chichou Junior High School in Chanwha county. The researcher used the survey method and the questionnaires named ” A Study on the Cognition and Attitude of Restoration to Paddy Fields for Junior High School Students” in this study. There were 57 questionnaires sent out and all of them were available. The data from the questionnaires were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, paired samples t-test, one-way ANOVA (analysis of variance) and Pearson product-moment correlation. The results are explained as follows: 1.The knowledge the students got was mainly from school teachers, TVs and media as well as Internet. 2.From the analysis of students’ background information, there was no significant difference between the boys and girls in their knowledge and attitude towards restoration to paddy fields. 3.Both parents’ educational background and occupation showed no correlation with the knowledge and attitude. 4.On the contrary, we found that instruction greatly improved the students’ knowledge and attitude towards restoration to paddy field. 5.Before and after instruction, there was significant correlation between students’ knowledge and attitude. According to the findings of the study, some suggestions were proposed for teachers, schools, the institutions of education and future researchers.
