The students selected are from Yuanlin Elementary School including grade 4, 5 and 6. Besides, We discussed the relationship among the students’ cognition, attitude and behavior toward disaster prevention. The researcher used the survey method and the questionnaire including two parts named “A Study on Students’ Cognition, Attitude and Behavior about Disaster Prevention-Taking Yuanlin Elementary School as An Example “ in this study. One is students’ personal information and the other is the cognition, attitude and behavior of disaster prevention. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Product-moment Correlation. The results are explained as follows: 1. The knowledge the students got was mainly from school teachers, their family as well as TVs and media. 2. Students got the highest grades on the attitude, but got the lowest on the knowledge. The attitude showed the most significant positive, but the students’ knowledge needed to be enhanced. 3. As to the knowledge toward disaster prevention, there was significant difference among the three grades. 4. From the students’ background information, there was significant difference among the grades in their attitude. 5. There was significant difference between the boys and girls in their attitude. 6. There was significantly different attitude in where the students got the information. 7. With regard to the behavior, there was significant difference among parents’ educational background and where the students got the information. 8. There was remarkable correlation between students’ knowledge and attitude toward disaster prevention. 9. Also there was remarkable correlation between students’ attitude and behavior toward disaster prevention. 10. There was remarkable correlation between students’ knowledge and how to deal with the disaster. 11. On the contrary, there was negative correlation between students’ knowledge and the recovery behavior. It showed the students’ recovery behavior wasn’t positive.
