| Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 藥用植物與保健學系 === 104 === Aim and Background：Since 2003, there’s a fair impact on market research of velvet antler trading in Taiwan after the sign " Agreement between New Zealand and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu on Economic Cooperation" between Taiwan and New Zealand. The way that many products including velvet antler will be coverted, They will be exported to Taiwan by tax free. Therefore, the aim of this study will discuss by Traditional Chinese Medical Literatures with the biogeography, science research condition, the Marketing situation and the using rationality of velvet antler. Methods：The references includes the origin of velvet antler, the place where Cervidae animal born, and the description of all the past dynasties Pharmacopeia by neighboring countries. There are two ways to investigate the market. One is consult with authorities by phone or e-mail; The other is visit traditional pharmacies. We will got the data of priceand the origin of velvet antlers. Results：In the historical record, the most body part of Cervidae animal have been used in medication, especially the velvet antler. According to the trader, the market conditions of velvet antler are mostly made in New Zealand. The velvet antler which made in Taiwan are mostly turning into the fresh product. But the quality of velvet antler is uneven, and the range of the price is too large, and the concept of velvet antler is poor. Conclusion：Today, most the commercially available’s origin of velvet antler is New Zealand. This study indicates that many people in Taiwan whose knowledge of velvet antler is unfamiliar. Because of this reason, there are doubts about products’s quality, and price.
