In parallel with ongoing efforts to increase the enlistment ratio, volunteer soldiers will play an important role in ensuring the success of future organizational reforms. Whether the quality and quantity of volunteer soldiers can meet standards and needs will have a huge influence on the transformation of the armed forces. How to encourage service members to remain in the military is a major issue that The Ministry of National Defense is facing. This study sought to investigate whether soldiers’ willingness to stay in the military is influenced by such factors as organizational identity and salary system. The study conducted a questionnaire survey of a Northern Army Mechanized infantry unit. A total of 173 valid questionnaires were obtained and analyzed by means of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results of the study are:(1) organizational identity had a significant, positive relationship with intention to stay in the military; (2) salary system had a significant, positive relationship with willingness to stay in the military; (3) gender and age of respondents had a significant relationship with salary system. The results and processes of this study provide interesting managerial implications, but have limitations of commonality in a management theory. In this study, a mechanized infantry northern army troops soldiers compulsory military service officer as the mother group, not including artillery, armor and logistics and professional troops.
