This paper will develop a novel image and biomedical monitoring system for home care of the elderly. This proposed image and biomedical monitoring system can send both life images and biomedical signals such as blood pressure and ECG of the elderly to his/her family and related medical personnel. These signals are transmitted through Wi-Fi, thus the elderly can walk free around the home. The proposed image and biomedical monitoring system has the following advantages: (1) A simple and cheap hardware platform using Arduino; (2) The health status and GPS location of the elderly are transmitted by Wi-Fi and immediately displayed on smart phones of his/her family and related medical personnel; (3) The life of the elderly are recorded by pictures or video and then transmitted by internet; (4) The R, Q, and S waves of ECG signals are found with high accuracy.
