Summary: | 碩士 === 中原大學 === 建築研究所 === 104 === In Taiwan, a recent trend of home decoration tells of the unique need for the lifestyle of “home”. However, home products in the current market are not necessarily geared towards satisfying this demand. As TV programs introduce more topics regarding home decoration, customers start questioning whether fashionable home decor is what they truly desire and need. How is their spiritual desire gratified by material goods? Shelter is no longer the only function of “home”. Living quality, emotional connection and ambiance have since become priorities. How is a “home” created? Is it by using sumptuous and glossy decorations, a simple white wall immersed in light and shadow, a window opened in the right direction, a small pool regulating the weather, or an arbor livening up the space?
This study established the perception of “wind”, “light”, “water” and “green” associated with “home” via literature review, and created the atmosphere of “home” based on the strategies of “wind”, “light”, “water” and “green” extracted from case studies. Then, site analysis was adopted to determine the strengths and constraints of the site. Finally, with specific functional arrangements, the core value of “home” was consolidated, ridding the long, narrow street house of its gloomy atmosphere and fulfilling the dream of living in a “joyful, leisurely, comfortable home.”
