There would be a high risk of cross infection between patients if the reusable medical devices were not completely sterilized. Moist heat sterilizer has high efficiency sterilization. If the sterilized items were not fully dried in the final stage of sterilization, it would be easily polluted during storage. So, how to ensure a complete and effective sterilization with good dryness in the moist heat sterilizer is very important. The aim of this research is to design a modified pressure control sequency to improve the sterilization efficiency. The modified pressure pulses technique of moist heat sterilizer is accomplished by regulating exhaust valve, vacuum pump, steam inlet valve, vacuum release valve and air heater. An ideal moist heat sterilizer should have good steam quality, sterilization temperature, steam permeability and drying effect. In order to obtain the performance of sterilizer, the temperature at different positions in the sterilized object, steam quality, sterilization data, sterilization validation and drying efficacy were measured during the experiments. The statistical analysis of comparison t-test (p<0.05) for steam quality and physical ratio of sterilization shows significant difference.
