Summary: | 碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 文教事業經營研究所 === 104 === This study adopted Action Research to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of implementation of teaching the second graders in elementary school by using the picture books to design Character Picture Books Teaching Curriculum for promoting the students’ core values of “respect” and “responsibility.”
To the research purpose, the objects, the twenty seven second graders in elementary school, have been taught with the character picture books for ten weeks in this study. This study analyzes the classroom dialogues, the teaching journals, the recordings, the students’ feedback with the pre- and post-tests character checklist (Paired-Samples T Test). In this study are summarized as follows:
1. After learning Character Picture Books Teaching Curriculum, the core values “respect” and
“responsibility” of the second graders were promoted positively, no matter in school or at home.
2. All the teacher and students are positively changed and effected by Character Picture
Books Teaching Curriculum.
3. Most of the second graders are fond of Character Picture Books Teaching Curriculum
according to the survey results of “Character Picture Books Teaching Curriculum Feedback
Questionnaire.”
4. To implement Character Picture Books Teaching Curriculum on the second graders in
elementary school is feasible for the following reasons.
(1)The simplicity and clearness of the materials of Character Picture Books are similar to
the second graders’ life.
(2)The characters of the Character Picture Books can be the learning models to the
second graders in elementary school.
(3)Because the second graders prefer diverse teaching methods, Character Picture Books
Teaching Curriculum of the study can enhance the effect of learning.
Finally, this study makes recommendations as the reference for the follow-educators to implement or study character picture books on teaching.
